Preparation
In a stemmed glass, pour just enough absinthe to coat the inside, turning the glass to cover the surface. Pour out any excess absinthe. In a shaker, combine the 3 drops absinthe, armagnac (or cognac), vermouth, and Bénédictine and shake with ice until chilled. Strain into the absinthe-rinsed glass. Twist an orange peel over the drink and place it in the glass.

A sophisticated sipper that opens with the ethereal anise whisper of absinthe before settling into the warm, honeyed complexity of cognac and Bénédictine. The dry vermouth keeps the sweetness in check, adding a subtle herbal edge that prevents the drink from becoming cloying. The result is rich and contemplative, with a lingering finish that feels both familiar and elusive.
