Preparation
Combine all ingredients with approximately one ounce of pebble ice in a cocktail shaker and whip shake for 8-10 seconds. Pour unstrained into a cocktail glass and fill with more pebble ice.

The Zombie is a Donn Beach original from the 1930s, a tiki classic designed to be limited to two per customer—for good reason. Three rums create a potent, layered base that reads surprisingly smooth, tempered by the spiced sweetness of falernum and the citrus punch of lime. Hints of anise from the absinthe and warm spice from the bitters add complexity beneath the tropical surface, while grenadine provides just enough color and sweetness to mask the drink's considerable strength.
