This split-base sipper marries the refined warmth of cognac with mezcal's earthy smoke, creating a foundation that feels both Old World and rugged. The two Italian amari contribute overlapping layers of bittersweet complexity—dried herbs, orange peel, and a subtle caramel depth—while absinthe and mole bitters add fleeting hints of anise and dark spice. The result is a spirit-forward drink with considerable weight and a long, warming finish.
