Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and dry shake for 30 seconds. Add one large and one small ice cube, and shake until the small one melts. Double strain and serve.

A measure of overproof Jamaican rum adds unexpected funk and heat beneath the surface, giving the cocktail some muscle. The egg white creates a silky, frothy texture that softens the sharper elements and carries the marzipan-like aromatics to the nose with each sip.
